Just Gatlin Beats Usain Bolt And Christian Coleman To Take Gold In IAAF 100 Metres

Justin Gatlin of the USA just outran the fastest man in history, Usain Bolt and also his country man, Christian Coleman to win the IAAF men’s hundred metres (100m) tonight (5 August) in London.

To the surprise of most in the sell-out crowd, not least the huge bank of Jamaican fans seated close to the finish, Gatlin and Coleman capitalized on another sluggish start by Bolt to take the Gold, and Silver medals respectively, leaving Usain Bolt with Bronze. The winning time was 9.92, with Coleman clocking 9.95 and Bolt at 9.96.

Justin Gatlin has been a silver medallist behind Bolt in the past three global 100m finals, and several other races. He also served two doping bans, which explains the boos from the crowd, however, he’s come clean now, and is the man of the moment.
